How do QR codes work?
QR codes are 2d barcodes that can be decoded using your smart phone with a QR code reader.
In order to be able to access information from a QR code, you need 2 things:
1. A smart phone that has a camera and internet capability
2. A QR code reader*
* Many new smart phones will already come equipped with a QR code reader. If your smart phone does not have a reader already installed, free QR code readers can be downloaded from your app. store.

Just the other day, I saw QR codes in use in Home Depot’s garden section. Each grow your own herb/vegetable plant had a QR code listed next to the name of the plant. It allowed you to scan it for more information on how to grow and maintain your plant-in what conditions, season, etc.
